This course focuses on strengthening students’ literacy, communication, and critical thinking skills for success in college and everyday life. Learners will study a range of informational, visual, and literary texts from Canada and around the world, exploring how content, form, and style shape meaning.
Students will produce a variety of oral, written, and media works for both practical and academic purposes, developing the ability to use language clearly, precisely, and effectively. Emphasis will be placed on organization, clarity of expression, and the development of well-supported ideas.
By the end of the course, students will be prepared for Grade 12 College English (ENG4C) and for postsecondary studies or workplace environments that require strong communication and analytical skills.
