This course introduces students to the fundamental concepts and principles of physics through inquiry-based learning and practical investigation. Learners will explore topics such as kinematics and linear motion, forces, energy transformations, mechanical waves and sound, and electricity and magnetism. Students will develop their scientific reasoning and problem-solving skills by designing and conducting experiments to test physical laws and analyze data. Emphasis will be placed on applying theoretical knowledge to real-world and technological contexts. Throughout the course, students will also examine the connections between physics, technology, society, and the environment, considering how innovations in physics shape modern life. This course provides a strong foundation for Grade 12 Physics (SPH4U) and postsecondary studies in science, and engineering fields.
