This course introduces students to the fundamental characteristics of functions and extends their understanding of mathematical relationships. Learners will explore quadratic, exponential, and trigonometric functions, applying them to model and solve real-world problems. Students will represent functions algebraically, graphically, and numerically, while developing the skills to simplify expressions, solve equations, and analyze mathematical patterns. Emphasis will be placed on reasoning, communication, and applying mathematical thinking to practical and theoretical situations. By the end of the course, students will have built a strong foundation for Grade 12 Advanced Functions (MHF4U) or Mathematics for College Technology (MAP4C), and for postsecondary pathways that require analytical and problem-solving skills.
