The Grade 10 English course develops students’ reading, writing, oral communication, and media literacy skills through the study of a wide range of literary and informational texts from diverse cultures and historical periods. Students analyze novels, short stories, poetry, drama, and media texts to deepen their understanding of language, theme, and perspective.
Throughout the course, students strengthen critical thinking and communication skills by producing clear, well-organized written work for various purposes and audiences. Emphasis is placed on literary analysis, argumentative and narrative writing, effective oral presentations, and the interpretation and creation of media texts.
This course prepares students for senior-level English studies by fostering independent learning, analytical thinking, and confident communication, while supporting continued success across all subject areas.
