The Grade 10 Science course builds on the foundational knowledge developed in Grade 9 and expands students’ understanding of key scientific concepts in biology, chemistry, physics, and Earth and space science. The course emphasizes scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and the application of science to real-world and global issues.
Students explore topics such as genetics and human systems, chemical reactions and the periodic table, optics and the properties of light, and climate change and environmental systems. Through laboratory investigations, experiments, simulations, and research activities, students develop skills in data analysis, problem-solving, and scientific communication.
This course prepares students for senior science courses by strengthening analytical skills, encouraging curiosity, and promoting an understanding of how science and technology influence society and the environment.
