This course builds on students’ prior knowledge of mathematical concepts and deepens their understanding of different types of functions. Learners will explore polynomial, rational, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions, developing the ability to model real-world relationships and solve complex problems. Through investigation and analysis, students will learn techniques for transforming and combining functions and will strengthen their understanding of rates of change. Emphasis is placed on logical reasoning, problem-solving, and communication which is the key skills for success in higher-level mathematics.
This course provides essential preparation for Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U) and for a variety of university programs in mathematics, science, engineering, and business.
